STAR URETHANE: DON BAMBRICK PRO WHEELS
July 16, 2009
Don Bambrick’s new pro wheels by Street Artist are out now!
Don is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. He’s also one of the best rollerbladers around. Show him and AJ some love and buy his wheels. They’re definitely going to be my next wheels.

i finally found a converter for jakes camera. just a short clip from a while back. no sound for some reason and its got the words “evaluation copy” plastered accross it. i’ll have to buy the software.

i went blading today for about an hour and a half or so today at the skate park and here are some pics jake took. hope you dig it!
2 very hot spots.
July 11, 2009
me and my buddy jake(camera man!) went out bladin today. we went out at like 3 o’clock and it was superdeeduperdee hot. like… camels couldnt take it hot. we started out at the s.o.s. building and got one shot there before we left. it was so hot jakes ass was a boiling! haha it took my a couple trys but i finally did it
after that we went and got some water at mcdonalds. then we headed south and were driving along when i remembered a little L shaped rail i had seen a while back while working. its at a little mexican thrift store. its called MI RRRRRUMBA!! haha
its a good spot, but just like many other spots in dodge city, there is always SOMETHING that makes it a little… not perfect
theres a nice crack just before the rail and the rail is broken off where it was cemented in, and the way the building is makes it so you cant see that big mean nasty beanered out machine careening around the corner to squash you like a cucaracha!
but its 5 and i have to hurry to pick up my girly from work! so i hurry to get her and fall in love all over again
fast forward to 7:50 and we are back at the MI RUMBA rail. unfortunately lil’ mamasita comes out and says “sorry but you guys can’t skateboard here…” how original. anyone ever heard that before? i tell her “im not skateboarding. im rollerblading.” she says “okay. well you can come back after 8 and skateboard then.” agggggaiiinnn i tell her “yeah. okay. but. im not skateboarding. im rollerblading.” finally lil’ mamasita catches the hint and says “okay. you guys can come back and rollerblade after we close.”
so… we waited…. 4 minutes.
bitch couldnt just pretend we werent there. oh well. sometimes i just go with the flow.
so 8 o’clock rolls around and i just start destroying shit! haha not really. but i did get a nice soul to 180 on the rail.
special thanks to my bear who helped me not get run over by beaner mobiles and jake for taking 2 awesome shots today. as ice cube said “today, was a good day…

NEW BLADES + SETUP/SESSION PICTURE POST
July 9, 2009
My new remz os3’s FINALLY came in! i love them. they feel very very verrrrrrrrry comfy. the liners are very thick especially when compared to my old valos.
I also ordered the chimera mike lilly wheel, the new ground control turquoise featherlite frame, and vicious bearings!
i figure i should comment on a couple first impressions i have from them.
LINER: the new precise liners have a few upgrades from the big J liners that came out sometime last year. I noticed the tongue on the precise liners is VERY plush and padded compared to the big j. the big j’s werent padded at all and the velcro pocket on the back of the tongue caused me a few problems(blisters, scratch feeling, and general pain sometimes). the padding on the precise liners takes all of that away in my opinion.
another nifty thing i noticed was the frame bolt in the heel spot is inside of the liner, and ALSO inside of the heel pad. i think it was a really good idea for reasons like heel lift. this in conjunction with the shell ankle strap, the velcro that goes over the tongue of the liner, and the liners padding all help keep the skate snug and responsive.
FRAME: ive always loved skating ground control frames. especially when they finally made all the hardware to their frames 8mm and metal. those plastic ones were nooo fun haha
the sickle bolts i think are a great idea and do their job very well. one allen wrench, and no spinning of axles while grinding. the grooves line up perfectly. i have the size nine os and size 2 gc frame for anyone who was wondering or needed advice on sizing.
the antirockers that come with the frame are perfect. same material as the frame and they are very sturdy in my opinion. alot of people love real antirockers with bearings and such but i find the bearingless antis to work great. i often got stuck with urethane antis and these are made of the same material as the frame so no issues there. just a matter of personal preference but i thought i should note it.
they slide really nice haha very fast. all that good stuff.
all in all the frames do a good job in my opinion. the groove and antirockers work together very well.
WHEEL&BEARING: i love vicious bearings. bottom line. the abec 5s are amazing. i had an earlier pair since this last hoedown. so thats been a really long time. they are durable and very speedy. definately a nice dose of venom
i got the 5s for the price and their durability. i trust them. i had them since hoedown 08 and just yesterday i let them go. they still spun! so for all the people wondering… they are durable and fast. well worth the money.
i love mike lillys blading and i had to get his wheel. normally im scared of 56 mm wheels and especially softer ones of 88a but these feel really durable. i put them through a pretty rough break in and they handled it wonderfully. theirs holes all over the run up of the curve ledge haha
i love my setup. the bs plate and frame groove line up perfect. the liners are comfy. the wheels and bearings work beautifully together. the skate is light and responsive. really responsive. no sloppiness or heel lift. the souls are great as well. kato and the team do a wonderful job. congratulations and thank you for making another wonderful skate.
